Runs at a Premium as NMTB Saint Paul Diamond Jaxx Defeats Mud Hens
Both teams were strong on the mound Thursday, but The Saint Paul Diamond Jaxx defeated Mud Hens 3-2. The Diamond Jaxx pitchers allowed just six hits to Mud Hens.
Tanner Wright pitched The Diamond Jaxx to victory. He allowed four hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out two and walking one. Juan Alonzo recorded the last three outs to earn the save for The Diamond Jaxx.
Scott Palma led The Diamond Jaxx with two hits in two at bats.
NMTB Saint Paul Diamond Jaxx Defeats Colt .45s In Pitcher's Duel
Both teams were strong on the hill Thursday, but the Saint Paul Diamond Jaxx defeated the Colt .45s 2-1. Nate Heisick allowed just two hits to the Colt .45s.
The Colt .45s got things moving in the first inning.
The Diamond Jaxx knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the second inning. The Diamond Jaxx scored one run when Jackson Meyer singled.
The Jaxx pulled away for good with one run in the third inning. In the third, Nick Engelken doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
Heisick earned the win for the Diamond Jaxx. He surrendered one run on two hits over seven innings, striking out 15. Heisick recorded the last 21 outs to earn the save for the Jaxx.
Ray Cartwright, Conor O'Brein, Engelken, Anthony Valladares, and Meyer all had one hit to lead the Jaxx.
